The tripping car for Conventional Electric Locomotive (WAP1/4, WAG7 & WAG5) is installed at tripping car model room. This tripping car is utilized to impart training to the running staff (LPs & ALPs) during different running courses. It has the facilities of electrical and pneumatic operations similar to electric locomotive. It is also very useful for learning the locations of different equipment and sub- equipment of electric loco especially for newly recruited ALPs and LPs/ ALPs converted from Diesel to Electric traction. On this tripping car training on different operations like trouble shooting on VCB not closing, unusual opening of VCB, notches not progressing/ regressing, pantograph not raising , tripping of VCB through relays, reverser not setting, auto regression etc are being imparted by creating fault by instructors from control panel. In addition of this, procedure of wedging of relays / contactors, bypassing of relays, manual setting of reversers/CTFs , GR manual control etc are being imparted to improve the skill and knowledge of running staff to avoid line failure and to maintain the punctuality of train.
