Electric Training Centre, Northern Railway, Ghaziabad

Electric Training Centre, Ghaziabad was established in the year 1989 and initially run within the premises of EMU Car Shed till 1992. With the aim of providing quality training to the Staff (Railway Employees) of Running as well as Maintenance Cadre, it was later shifted to its presently existing building in the year 1992. Then onwards, it has been continuously striving to be persistent to seek and adopt new and innovative methods and tools to improve the quality of training to provide as much effective training as possible to make the railway employees excellent in workmanship and more efficient and in their respective fields of work.

The entire campus with a big hostel building is rich with a green and peaceful ambience with quality standards of boarding and lodging facilities. It has an overall capacity of 288 trainees occupancy on per day basis and there is a mess facility for all the trainees residing in hostel with hygienic and good quality of food.

  • EMU courses for Motorman started.
  • Train lighting Model room established.
1996-2000
  • EMU & AC Coach Model Room established.
2001-2005
  • Refresher & other courses for Running staff started.
  • 28 Bed Hostel (14 rooms) developed.
  • AC Loco model room established.
  • Initial course (PE-1) started for ALP.
2006-2010
  • Computer Lab established.
  • EMU Tripping Car developed in open yard.
  • AC Loco Tripping Car developed.
  • TRD model Room developed.
  • Extension of ETC Building
  • Extension of hostel building.
2011-2020
  • Up gradation of Model Rooms & other activity.
  • Three Phase AC Simulator commissioned .
  • Started classes of Three Phase EMU .
  • Partition of hostel and mess area dedicated to female trainees.
  • Hostel Capacity increased from 176 beds to 228 beds.
  • E-learning started from April-2020 to stop the spread of Novel Corona Virus COVID-19.
